The game “Worms” is an excellent example of how computer characters become an element of culture.
In 1995, the British developer and publisher Team 17 released “Worms” on the market and since then the cartoonish pink creatures with grenades at the ready have enjoyed unprecedented popularity and commercial success, having survived five generations of releases on different consoles.
You are a small worm who loves to fire a bazooka at his opponents. Your task is to destroy the enemy squad before they do it. Two-dimensional but bright graphics; life points that are so easy to lose; funny and spectacular special effects will definitely give you several evenings of amazing shootouts!
• Manage your small army! You have access to four units, which you must sequentially give orders to. After your actions, the computer will order NPC characters to carry out a counterattack.
• The landscape affects the course of battles. Before each round, the system itself generates a combat zone randomly: it can be mountains, forests, plains, fantasy worlds - you have to fight everywhere! Shoot at the environment to change it and use a tactical advantage in battle.
• Fit into the allotted time. Each time you can set the timer for making decisions and the end time of the game round yourself.
• A lot of weapons. The developers approached the issue of equipment with a fair amount of humor: among the 15 different positions in the arsenal, you can even come across explosive sheep.
• Use clever tricks. The worms have 6 secret techniques that make the battle easier: for example, a teleport or a rope that allow you to change your position on the field, or a beam and a soldering iron, thanks to which you can change the nature around you.
